I have made a few morning visits to Great Falls recently with the heavy fog that we have had last month. Of course – it is about 45 min from my home, so you never really know what you are going to have when you get there. So far the fog has not been as heavy as it was near home, but still very moody.
Here is a quick panoramic shot from a recent trip.
It has been too long since my last post. Not to make excuses, but I have been very busy with the family over the holidays. I did find a few moments to go out and get some photos here and there. Mostly on a weekend or a quick detour on my way to work. The weather around here has been less than wintery to say the least. The little bit of snow from Christmas Eve was gone by the next afternoon. Here is a shot from my favorite detour location in Gambrills. You can see – the air temp had dropped and the ponding water was starting to freeze. There are several areas of ice forming, giving the water some added detail.
This time of the year is great for sunrise photography for me. I don’t have to get up at 4am to get to a spot when the light is good.
